MP15DCs UPY 1323 and 1316 head out the UP’s Janesville-Evansville branch, which actually continues to Madison. The line north and west of Evansville hasn’t seen a train since 1997 and has several grade crossings removed or paved over.
In the first scene the train is crossing the bike path behind Mercy Hospital. Then it is seen crossing Riverside Drive and is paced through the Riverside Golf Course before crossing the County Highway E overpass.
The train is seen next crossing Polzin Road in the township of Leyden. Then it’s on to Evansville where we see that a cut of covered hoppers is already sitting on the main just east of the Weary Rd. crossing.
The train arrives and shoves this cut across the road, with the power sandwiched between them and the cars they just brought from Janesville. They cut those cars off just east of the crossing and proceed to shove the hoppers west, toward the west entrance to the Landmark Co-op loop track (the east entrance is the switch seen in the video). At the end is a distant shot as they shove into the loop.
Stay tuned for more action from this job…
