What you need to do is get friendly with the desk clerk. If the conference has not taken up their full room block, the can if they wish make the rate change. Conference rates are ususally lower than general rates but not always the lowest. Often AARP, state and federal Govt. rates are the best. The clerks have to meet certain overall revenue #s based on rooms sold. A good clerk will work wiht a good customer.

Try being truthful and talk to the hotel people and see if they can work something out so you can get the same rates as the conference people. Maybe you could actually attend a conference of something. You might actually learn something about the religion whatever it may be. Good luck and God Bless you.
